由天艳，博士、教授、博士研究生导师，学术副校长。国家高层次人才，国务院学位委员会第八届农业工程学科评议组成员。
1999年于中国科学院长春应用化学研究所获得博士学位，先后在日本NTT公司微系统研究所和香港大学（博士后）、中国科学院长春应用化学研究所、江苏大学、河南科技大学工作。
长期从事农业信息感知和传感技术研究，围绕新型碳基纳米复合材料的制备、生物传感及其在农业分析中的应用等方向开展了系统性研究。以通讯作者在Advanced Functional Materials、Analytical Chemistry、Biosensors and Bioelectronics等国际权威期刊发表高质量SCI文章207篇，其中ESI高被引文章8篇；授权中国发明专利59件。主持国家优秀青年科学基金、国家自然科学基金面上项目等国家级项目10余项。入选全国百篇优秀博士论文、中国科学院“百人计划”、江苏省双创团队领军人才等，获国家自然科学奖二等奖（第五）、吉林省科学技术奖二等奖（第一）。
培养的研究生9人次获国家奖学金，入选江苏省优秀博士论文和优秀硕士论文各1篇；指导学生获第八届国际大学生智能农业装备创新大赛特等奖。
